Eid ul-Fitr is the final day or the day of breaking of the fast that was observed through the holy month of Ramadan. Eid is declared om the day the moon is sighted. Eid ul-Fitr is a sacred day for Muslims to come together and embrace each other with thoughts of charity, harmony, and togetherness.
Islam follows the lunar calendar; therefore, the sighting of the moon differs from country to country by usually a day. Also, the day may vary from the date, as thought of earlier, due to actual moon variation. In India, Muslims celebrate Eid usually a day after sighting the crescent moon in Saudi Arabia.

The celebration of Eid ul-Fitr is about brotherhood and helping others who are in need. The Islam community from different countries use this day to proclaim their gratitude to Allah for everything they own through prayer and acts of charity.

Exchange of gifts: It is a time to meet near and dear, and celebrate the occasion by exchanging greetings and gifts. Everyone in the family, especially the kids get extremely excited to receive their "Eidi" gift. The tradition is important as is it celebrates love and togetherness.
Buying and wearing new clothes: A popular tradition which adds colour and magic to this festivity is the beautiful new clothing which is specially ordered or bought on this day. Everyone puts on their new clothes to attend Salah. In most countries, the traditional Eid clothing for men includes Kurta Pajama, and Mojris on their feet. The women adorn themselves in ornate Salwar kameez, Lehenga Choli, and hijabs.
Donating food, clothes, and money to the poor: An important aspect of the day, Muslims donate food, clothes and even money to the needy. As per Allah, Muslims must give charity to anyone in need who they come across on the day of Eid.
Traditional food and family recipes: The highlight of the celebration of Eid is the feast that is prepared for the whole family to share together. In most houses, a delicious desert called Sevai is made on this day for the visitors. Another well-loved sweet dish is Sheer Khurma.
